 About the Summit

The Chattanooga Youth Conservation Summit is a full day of youth-led inspiration, action, and advocacy, presented by Cash Daniels, The Conservation Kid, and hosted at Ivy Academy—Tennessee’s first environmental charter school. Designed for middle and high school students with a passion for protecting the planet, the Summit offers a unique opportunity to learn from peers and professionals, build conservation leadership skills, and develop personal action plans.

Through a combination of engaging presentations, collaborative planning sessions, hands-on workshops, and interactive exhibits, students will emerge with the tools and confidence to launch or expand their own conservation projects in their schools and communities.

Featured Presenter: Cash Daniels

At just 15 years old, Cash Daniels has become one of Tennessee’s most recognized youth conservationists. He was recently honored by the National Geographic Society and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation as one of only 15 global recipients of the 2025 Slingshot Challenge Distinguished Achievement Award. His award-winning project, Lines of Hope, is a youth-led effort to remove and recycle fishing line across Tennessee, transforming it into fish habitat and preventing wildlife entanglement.

Cash began his environmental journey at the age of seven and has since established strong partnerships with state agencies, placed recycling bins in public parks, and removed over 6,000 miles of monofilament fishing line from Tennessee's waterways. He also runs a recycling business, volunteers for monthly cleanups, and plans to study oceanography and photography to further his mission through storytelling and film.

What to Expect

Students will:

  • Hear from youth project leaders and participate in Q&A with Cash Daniels
